It is a four storey building which has a lounge and dining room on each floor, there is also a library with IT facilities, a bar and a bistro all of which residents can choose to use at any time. It has landscaped grounds with raised beds for resident participation. Our priority is the welfare and happiness of our residents and staff.
The Home caters for 62 residents providing Nursing and Residential Care to older people. The top floor has been specially designed and is dedicated to cater for 18 residents who may suffer from dementia. The remaining 44 beds are on lower ground, ground and first floor.
Neela Mudalli-Home Manager
"My name is Neela Mudalli and I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1998. I initially worked in various hospital specialities in Mauritius before moving to the UK in 2001. Here I have worked both in the NHS and care home sector. I joined Acacia Care Centre as the Home Manager in December 2013.
Acacia Care Centre is a 62 bedded home with many lovely homely facilities. We have a library where residents and relatives can spend some time reading books of their choice, a therapy/ sensory room where residents can enjoy a relaxation time and a bar room on ground floor where residents come to have some activities such as cheese and wine afternoons. We also host regular coffee mornings, birthday parties and other gatherings there.
We have had good feedback from visitors who come to view Acacia with some saying it looks like a 5 stars hotel! Our garden is beautiful where residents spend time during the day or evening to enjoy fresh air. Our new in house rabbits and chickens have proven to be very popular among our residents and also to children who come to visit.
I am proud of how all my staff work together as a team at Acacia to make this a home for our residents. Our hard work has meant that my team has achieved "Good" from the CQC on our last two inspections. We are always aiming to continue working towards even better care. We have been voted the Top 20 Award in carehome.co.uk and also achieved accreditation with the Gold Standards Framework in 2016.
I do hope you will come to visit Acacia to experience our home for yourselves."
